Distrct AGM 2017
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who attended the District AGM on the 17th May 2017, at Clitheroe Rugby Club, it was great to see so many people from across Clitheroe District coming together to learn about what Clitheroe has been up to over the last year, from members of the movement to dignitaries from across the Ribble Valley.
The district AGM is always a good opportunity to meet and socialise with fellow members of the district and learn about the amazing opportunities that we, as a district, offer.
We heard from all of our Assistant District Commissioners who gave us a report on what each section has completed over the last year and generally an Activities report. I would like to thank Dave, Nicola, Chris, Paul, Jan and Richard for all of their support over the last year; our 540 young people wouldn’t have such amazing adventures without you!
We then heard from our County Commissioner and an ex-District Commissioner, Glen Fendall, who spoke to us about the future of Scouting and the impact that scouting has on our Young People and the community. I would like to thank the members of the Scout County, who were able to attend our AGM to help give an insight into how they will be able to help our district in the future, so I would like to thank Glen Fendall (County Commissioner) Ian Macdonald (Deputy County Commissioner) Joanne Carey (Assistant County Commissioner, Explorer Scouts) and Josh Macdonald (Deputy County Youth Commissioner)
Finally, I would like to thank Mary Robinson (District Chair) Ken Jackson (Vice District Chair) Marjorie Huddart (District Treasurer) and Chris Thomas (District Secretary) for their dedication to the district over the last year.
Once again, thank you to all members of our amazing district- we couldn’t do what we do without you!
